In his presentation at our Rotary Meeting on July 19, 2013, Henry Haitz, Publisher of The State and President of the The State Media Company, says we could look forward to a paper newspaper delivered for at least the next five years. The State not only publishes the newspaper but also has a electronic image of the newspaper as well as a web edition, thestate.com, of all stories in the newspaper. In addition, The State Media Company prints USA Today, portions of the Charlotte Observer and other newspapers. Haitz came to The State as the economy went into recession and has had to carefully manage the facility, finances and adjust staffing, while focusing on being the primary source for local news.
