Mrs. Howard has more than 30 years of experience as a community liaison working with environmental, natural resources, public administration, and regional planning issues. She retired from Beaufort Marine Corps Air Station, where she first served as the Natural Resources and Environmental Director and later the Community Plans and Liaison Officer. Her volunteerism includes leadership positions with the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry and Rotary Foundation, Keep Beaufort Beautiful Board and school PTSOs. She has also served as chairman of the City of Beaufort Zoning Board of Appeals and as a member of the Metro Planning Commission. Mrs. Howard is a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church and a member of Leadership Beaufort Class 1996. She has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia; a Bachelor of Science in Community Planning and Development, magna cum laude, from Columbus College; and an Associate Arts degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
