Rick Reames III, currently serves as the Director of the South Carolina Department of Revenue.  He was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley effective as of July 18, 2014.  Prior to serving at the Department of Revenue, Mr. Reames was a tax partner at a large regional law firm with offices throughout North and South Carolina. While in private practice, Mr. Reames practiced primarily in the state and local tax arena, and regularly advised and counseled local and multi-state businesses on all aspects of state and local taxation.   He received a BA from Wofford College, a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and an L.LM (Masters of Laws) in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
