Last Saturday, our club sponsored applicant for a Rotary Ambassadorial Global Grant Scholarship – USC student Leila Heidari – competed in an interview process against candidates from other clubs from across District 7770. We learned Sunday that Leila was one of the candidates selected to be a District 7770 candidate!! The next step is final approval for her scholarship from the Rotary Foundation. Leila is going to use the scholarship to enter a Master of Science program at university in the United Kingdom. Her focus there will be study and research on disease prevention. Special thanks to Five Points club member Bill Latham who helped Leila begin her application process this spring and a very special thanks to Five Points club member Olivia Jones who worked with Leila to prepare her for the interview weekend! Congrats Leila!
